I admit I love Jamie Oliver. He has a relaxed attitude and he is passionate about cooking. Whenever I see him doing what he knows best it fascinates me terribly. Why? Because I see in front of me a person who is completely absorbed by what he does and who gives everything in order to produce a unique and tasty dish. And he does this without the slightest hint of effort.
But just because he is in the food industry it doesn’t mean that he encourages reckless eating and processed food. In fact he is a strong advocate of adopting a balanced diet that can diminish the risks of obesity and diet related diseases. He supports good eating, home-cooked meals and a good gastronomic education.

We are finally here: it’s New Year’s Eve! We are leaving behind a spectacular year, filled with love, resentment, excitement, frustration, tears and smiles. These don’t apply to everyone but sure enough everyone has gone through a lot this year.

1. Round fruits – this is a popular New Year’s tradition around the world although it varies according to location. For instance while in the Philippines is customary to eat 13 pieces of fruits (13 is considered lucky), in Europe or the US people eat 12 pieces symbolizing each month of the year. Why? For good luck!
Junk food has become a serious issue in today’s world. More and more people have less time to eat a well cooked meal and prefer to grab something fast that can feed their immediate hunger. Even when they are on the road they tend to recur to unhealthy food to shush that stomach and keep on going.
But is this always a good idea? A dish that contains processed food will quench the hunger but it doesn’t include nutrients and proteins that maintain the organism healthy and balanced. And the fast food chains existent around the world are not even trying to ease things by adding healthy products in their menus.

This is a very interesting presentation of the process of creating a man exclusively out of junk food.
