Maharashtra suffers devastating flooding as heavy rains hit several areas of the state. In these challenging times, the philanthropist and master chef Sanjeev Koor, together with World Central Kitchen (WCK), founded by chef José Andres and Taj Hotels, launched an initiative at the beginning of July to provide the flood-affected regions of Chiplun and Mahad with meals.

As part of the ongoing initiative, the team will deliver a total of 15,000 freshly prepared meals a day to flood victims in these areas.

Chef Sanjeev Koor said, “Several areas in Maharashtra are being flooded due to incessant rainfall, causing many people to lose their lives and their homes. Chiplun and Mahad are such regions. The people in these flooded areas do not even have food to meet their basic needs. We believe that one small step forward for humanity can make a huge difference in the lives of many. With our initiative, we prepare high-quality meals to provide these affected families with basic nutrition. The mission is to feed as many flood victims as possible in these regions and beyond. ”

Since Covid-19 hit the country, Sanjeev Koor, along with Taj Hotels and WCK, has tirelessly distributed freshly prepared nutritious meals to the health care warriors who are non-stop working against the coronavirus. To date, Chef Koor and Chef José Andres of World Central Kitchen have provided over 1 million meals for frontline workers in cities like Delhi, Gurugram, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Goa, Lucknow and Varanasi.
